Day 1 ~ Arrival ~ (Arenal or Liberia)
Private Transfer to Arenal – (approx. 3 hours) – Your private driver will be waiting outside the airport to take you to your first destination, the nighty Arenal Volcano. Vehicles are equipped with WiFi.

Natural Reserve We start out with a visit to a local reserve to learn about natural life in Costa Rica and have a leisurely walk to see to enjoy the gardens.
Waterfall hike Enjoy a hike down to the base of one of the largest waterfalls in the Northern Zone, the La Fortuna Waterfall.
Delicious Homemade Lunch We then hike back up about 20 minutes to enjoy a delicious lunch (vegetarian options available.) Return to the center of La Fortuna to visit a local artist, do some shopping and relax before heading out on your volcano hike, if you wish.
Visit and Hike the Arenal Volcano This tour would not be complete without a visit to the Arenal Volcano to do an easy-going hike along the base of the majestic Arenal Volcano.
Hot Springs Now’s the time to relax in a series of hot springs with swim-up bars and isolated areas pools and waterfalls.
Dinner at the hot springs This rounds out a perfect day in Costa Rica – enjoy!
Find out why Costa Rica is like no other place on Earth! You’ll learn about Costa Rican natural history as you walk through a natural reserve and spot a variety of butterflies and birds such as the Blue Morpho, Monarchs, Swallow-Tails, and many more.
From there we visit one of the largest waterfalls in the region (for more-adventurous-types, the Lost Canyon Waterfall or in dry season, the famous La Fortuna Waterfall.) We head up a country road with your naturalist guide and then you will hike to the base of some beautiful waterfalls – you can even go for a swim in the deep cool pools. It’s about a 20 minute hike back up and we take our time and learn about more of the flora and fauna in this beautiful jungle canyon.
It’s lunch time! Enjoy a delicious lunch. Return to the center of La Fortuna to visit a local artist, do some shopping and relax, if you wish, before heading out on your volcano hike.
It’s time to enjoy the quintessential reason you came to La Fortuna – a visit to the Arenal Volcano! You’ll have a front-row seat to one of the most-majestic volcanoes in the world as you take a guided hike through secondary and primary rainforest. You’ll get close enough to possibly feel the rumble of the mountain.
And to finish off your day, we head to the hot springs. Spend your time lounging around in the beautiful tropical gardens and swim-up bar with an amazing view of the volcano. Have dinner. We then take you back to your hotel when you’re ready to go.
Day 3 ~ Arenal ~ (B,L)
Hanging Bridges / Sky Tram / Sky Trek Zipline Canopy Tour- Traverse the cloud forest by way of hanging bridges. You will encounter many bird species and will learn much about this amazing ecosystem. The Sky Trek starts with a tour in the Sky Tram to reach the top of the Arenal reserve, then begins a tour of adventure full of adrenaline above the treetops, which consists on a system of zip lines, that allows you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective, safely in an innovative and different system.The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles with distances from 100 to 2460 feet, and with a maximum height of 660 feet, which exceed the treetops providing a panoramic view of the Arenal volcano and lake.

Canyon Tour – see how many different ways you can be suspended in one day!!! Your choice on which ones you participate in. Possibilities include: rock climbing, rappeling, canopy tour (zip lines), suspended bridges, and a Tarzan Swing to bring out the jungle in you. Next you can watch the forest go by and try to maintain some balance tubing down the Rio Negro (when the river is high enough)! After that take a leisurely horse back ride to either Las Chorreras or Oropendola waterfalls. At the end of the day you can take a well-deserved dip in the Hacienda’s Hot Springs and benefit from the soothing properties of the Volcanic Mud pool.
Day 7 ~ Tamarindo ~ (B,L)
Palo Verde National Park/Guaitil Town – The natural wetlands in the region of the Palo Verde National Park is home to one of the most important concentrations of birds in the country and in Central America. Birdwatchers will be in paradise and nature lovers of any age will revel in the abundant wildlife. Regular visitors along the river are the Anhinga (Snake Bird), Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks, the endangered and rare Jabiru (largest bird in Central America), Blue Herons, White Ibis, and more.
The Palo Verde Crocodile Safari begins with pick up at your hotel. The scenic drive along the way will have us passing papaya , sugar cane and melon fields. Upon arrival, you’ll board a covered, motorized river boat and cruise the Tempisque river. Along the way you’ll observe sunbathing crocodiles, diverse species of birds, huge iguanas, howler and white faced monkeys and more up close and personal.
Next to the Chorotegan town of Guaitil to see how the famous Costa Rican ceramics are made. After your wildlife tour on the Tempisque you can make a stop at Guaitil.
Experience the Costa Rican culture from its roots. Stop for a cup of coffee in a traditional cooperative in the town of Santa Cruz and continue on to the town of Guaitil. See the last decedents of the Mayans (Chorotegas) continue their tradition of making hand made pottery from the natural clays of the earth and have the opportunity to purchase irreplaceable handmade Costa Rican pottery directly from the artist.
